Full Canvas Construction

Below it sit two shortcuts: “half-canvas,” which only stiffens the chest and lapel, and “fused,” where glue binds the front of the jacket. Both are cheaper to build — and both fail the long game. Fused fronts bubble as the adhesive breaks down over time. Half-canvas jackets age unevenly. Neither lasts.

Every jacket we build rests on a traditional horsehair full canvas — the highest standard in tailoring. Layers of horsehair, cotton, and wool are stitched into a living structure that holds its shape, breathes with you, and only gets better with wear.
